About Our Chapter
Our Chapter meeting is on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, 7:00 pm at the Elks Lodge, 350 Belton Rd, St Helens, OR 97051. Come early for dinner and to visit with other members at 6:00 pm. (New venue)
The Columbia County Chapter of OET was formed in 2003 and started working on three local projects: Camp Wilkerson Horse Camp. Dibblee Point and the Crown Zellerbach Logging Road (“aka the CZ Linear trail”). Today we continue our work on trails and the horse camp at Camp Wilkerson. And the trail at Columbia County Park, Dibblee Beach.
Our work parties focus on clearing trails and are being held regularly in the spring and fall. We have upgraded the horse corrals at the Camp Wilkerson horse camp to metal corrals. We also have added some gravel to the Wilkerson trails to make them less slippery and safer. We continue to look for new trail loops.
To support our efforts, we hold fundraisers during the year: our annual Trick or Treat ride/walk at Dibblee Beach in October; a blue bag can & bottle drive throughout the year; and our annual holiday dinner in November with a silent auction and bake sale.
Please join us for fun and to meet new friends! Our members include a variety of folks: some have horses and some don’t, some come to meetings and others work behind the scenes on committees and projects, some just want to contribute to our efforts at maintaining and upgrading trails and horse camps. Everyone is welcome!
