About Our Chapter

Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month. Members and guests are welcome at 6:00pm for socializing, and the meeting starts at 6:30pm Location is the Pleasant Ridge Community Hall 7067 SW Canal Blvd Redmond, OR 97756

Central Oregon Chapter was formed in 1989 under the direction of Laura White and John Grant. Since that time we have grown to over 140 members. Our group is composed of a variety of riders and riding styles as well as non riders who support our goals. We usually sponsor a Poker Ride in the summer, ride together in local parades, and organize campouts and other fun riding activities for all types and level of rider.

We do a lot of volunteer work to keep our local trails and horse camps open:

Our chapter has adopted Sisters Cow Camp and Swamp Wells Horse Camp, and our volunteers help keep these Horse Camps open as no-fee campgrounds.
The chapter has replaced old log corrals with sturdy steel corrals at Chief Paulina and Three Creeks Meadow Horse Camps.
Chapter members maintain and clear portions of the Metolius Windigo Trail known as the MetWin.
Chapter members have worked to create and sign trails in the Cline Buttes recreation area and the Corral Flats trail system in the Ochoco mountains.
The chapter prioritizes partnerships with other local trail groups and public land managers to successfully achieve goals.
The chapter organizes and staffs a Free Gift Wrapping Center the month of December to raise money and awareness.
We hold regular Work Parties to tackle these projects, and along with the satisfying experience of keeping the trails and camps clear and well-maintained, we also have a lot of fun. We enjoy each other’s company, and many of our work parties take place on horseback.
The year ends with our Christmas potluck and a very lively gift exchange.
